Where history, creativity, and warm Kiwi hospitality come together to create unforgettable stays.
Mike & Susie-Lee
Hi there! We’re Mike and Susie-Lee, and we’re so excited to welcome you to our little corner of Kaikōura.
Mike’s family has been rooted in the Hapuku area since the 1860s, and the land we call home is steeped in history. Over the years, we’ve worked to blend that rich heritage with our love of quirky, creative design to create something truly special.
Mike is a lifelong collector with a passion for restoring and preserving unique pieces of history, which you’ll see throughout our properties. Susie-Lee is an artist at heart, often found in her studio working on pastel and charcoal creations. Together, we’ve poured our love into transforming these spaces into one-of-a-kind getaways.
Historic Charm
From a lovingly restored 1921 train carriage to 2 cottages with unique and quirky uses of recycled materials, every detail tells a story.
Modern Comforts
While we embrace history, we’ve designed each space with your comfort in mind, think private outdoor hot bathtubs under the stars, modern amenities, and tranquil surroundings.
Heartfelt Hospitality
As Superhosts with over 10 years of experience, we pride ourselves on making every guest feel at home. Whether it’s sharing a local recommendation or simply saying hello, we’re always here to help.
We believe every stay should be more than just a getaway—it should be a chance to connect with nature, history, and the people you care about. That’s why we’ve created spaces where you can slow down, savour the moment, and make memories that last a lifetime.
